Devotional of the Week August 24-30

1 Thessalonians 5: 16-22

"Rejoice evermore. Pray without ceasing. In everything give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you. Quench not the Spirit. Despise not prophesyings. Prove all things; hold fast that which is good. Abstain from all appearance of evil."

Timeless advice and words of wisdom for all. As we walk with God along life's journey, let us not forget to rejoice along the way for His goodness and love. God and His goodness should be constant in our thoughts day by day, and we ought to give Him thanks for all that He has done for us. As we continue to honor Him with our lives, and follow His commands, we will grow closer to Him. We will lose our desire for all that is or appears to be evil, and will cling to the goodness of life.
