Devotional of the Week January 25-31

Luke 6: 32-36

"For if ye love them which love you, what thank have ye? For sinners also love those that love them. And if ye do good to them which do good to you, what thank have ye? For sinners also do even the same. And if ye lend to them of whom ye hope to receive, what thank have ye? For sinners also lend to sinners, to receive as much again. But love your enemies, and do good, and lend, hoping for nothing again; and your reward shall be great, and ye shall be children of the Highest: for he is kind unto the unthankful and to the evil. Be ye therefore merciful, as your Father also is merciful."

Being a child of God is no easy matter. As children of God we are called to go above and beyond the call of duty to our fellow man. We called not be ordinary people, but to be an extraordinary people, and to live a life that is noble and exemplary. It is however, only through God's empowerment that we can hope to achieve this high and exalted state. May we then continue to allow Him to lead us to greater and greater heights.
